Transforming to DCP from Rec709

Hello ladies and gentlemen, sorry in advance if this question was answered here before, but I really tried and couldn't find it.

So, simple story:
I have a short film, color graded to Rec709, all good, looks rather fine at all displays, Mac/Pc/Android/Iphone/Good/Bad/Ugly.

BUT I also need to have a DCP version of film, DCP will be done through festival-distribution company (not homemade).

THE QUESTION - How do I approach transforming from Rec709 to P3? Is it quite fine to go straightforward from rather uncompressed Rec709 without any adjustments and somehow the color will be adjusted during transforming to DCP (automatically??)

OR I need to work with colorist in studio with projector before giving the file for DCP printing and adjust everything myself?

Thanks a lot

The company doing your DCP should be able to convert it to P3 and have likely worked out a good system to do so since most shorts master to 709.

Good luck!
