What happens when you run out of inspiration?

Have you ever felt as if you go through a period where your creativity is not there and you just stop shooting for a while? Well, I think Im going through that phase. What do you guys recommend? I feel out of ideas and I haven't produced anything for a month now. Any advice on this? I'll be grateful.

There was a time where I was really fearing running out of ideas. I got to a point where I came up with a certain amount of things I wanted to do and couldn't think of anything else.

But it passes. You just have to live your life, and things will come to you. Even the littlest things can be inspirational. I'm always thinking of something now and it feels like I'll never run out of ideas for content. There's always something that pops up.

Broaden your horizons as well. If you mostly keep to one thing, try doing something you wouldn't normally do. Write about it. If there's a seed of an idea, it will start to sprout. If not? Move on to something else and see if that inspires you.

Writers write, always. (that's benefit not just writers can benefit from)

(that's advice, not benefit)... we've gotta really get an "edit post" feature going on here because sometimes sh*t happens.

Thank you for this answer Zachary "Broaden your horizons as well. If you mostly keep to one thing, try doing something you wouldn't normally do. Write about it." I needed to hear that.

I agree with Zachary. Take a breather. Get out. Try something different

I have gone through this for about 10 years. I spend as much time creating music as I do video stuff and I find that when I'm working on one, the other is refilling. So, after a big video project I will feel spent and won't have any new ideas but the ideas for music are coming like crazy. If I work on that for a while the video juices refill and I usually have a ton of inspiration when I come back. Rarely am I able to have creative ideas dor both at once. I personally think that different art forms and se different kinds of creative juices and exploring something other than video can really help.

Tried watching short films that are just a bit better than what you think you can do yourself? I find this inspiring! Because then I can look at it like: Oh this is good! What does this filmmaker do better than me? What do I need to do to make shorts of this quality?

In other words I get inspiration. Staff picks from vimeo is a good place to start looking!
