Hollywood's Biggest Names in Comedy Want to Read Your Screenplay

ScreenCraft is officially calling for entries into its Comedy Screenplay Competition and, as one of the industry's top contests in the genre, are offering screenwriters the unique opportunity of getting their work read by some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
The biggest names, you say? Who exactly?
Judges
Well, this year's judges are:
- Mitchell Hurwitz (creator of Arrested Development and The Ellen Show)
- Judit Maull (development executive at Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions)
- Joseph Garner (producer of Hangover Part II and III, development executive for Bradley Cooper and Todd Phillip's Joint Effort)
- Alex McAtee (creative executive at Seth Rogan's Point Grey Pictures)
Prizes
The panel of judges is only part of the draw of this competition. Screenwriters competing for the Grand Prize stand to win a $1000 cash prize, a license to a pro-level screenwriting software (Final Draft of WriterDuet Pro), acceptance into the ScreenCraft Development Program, and a free badge for the 2021 ScreenCraft Summer, plus a travel stipend. But perhaps the most useful part of the Grand Prize package is a personal introduction and phone call with top Hollywood literary managers—people that can help you take your screenwriting career to the next level.
There will also be 3 Runner-Up prizes for the best TV pilot, feature, and short screenplay.
What is ScreenCraft Looking For?
ScreenCraft has switched things up a bit this year for the Comedy Screenplay Competition to add TV pilots and short scripts, but regardless of the format you choose to submit, it will still be judged based on the same criteria: originality, plot/story structure, characterization, visual inventiveness, and overall impression.
The page limit for each format is as follows:
- Feature: 75-150 pages
- Shorts: 7-35 pages
- TV Pilots: 25-75 pages
Also, keep in mind that while there's no limit to how many scripts you can enter, there is an entry fee for each submission.
- Early deadline (February 29th): $49
- Regular deadline (March 31st): $69
- Final deadline (April 30th): $79
