Sony has announced the FX3, the latest camera in its Cinema Line, and while we gave our first impressions, compared it to the competition, and shot a real-world test, it's always great to read other creators' perspectives and reviews. This way you're not relying on a single source when considering buying a new camera.

Lizzie Peirce

"They essentially took the a7 III, got rid of a bunch of the bells and whistles, buttons, d-pad... things like that on the body of the camera and packaged all of that good stuff inside into a smaller frame in the a7c. And although this is a little bit different, you can add on some of those things like the XLR that you would get in the FX6 at a little bit of a lower price point. It's build your own and you can customize this camera depending on what your needs are as a cinematographer." 

Brandon Washington

"If you are a video shooter—a 100% video shooter and not a content creator, you're not someone who's trying to take some photos here and there—I would say that this camera is the way to go, knowing that you still very well could take some photos. But if you are someone who is still trying to take photos or you're more of a content creator for Instagram, the a7S III is still a phenomenal camera. With the addition of the audio handle, this is going to be massive for video shooters because audio is so important." 

Peter Lindgren

"There's basically nothing that you get with this camera that you don't get in the a7s IIII. I totally understand that this is more for professionals that want to have a smaller camera that you can screw things into or maybe mount to a different setup, and that is something that you can't do with the a7S III, but performance wise, these are basically the same cameras."
