The movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High is one of the best comedies of all time. It is a fun, emotional, and smart coming of age film that really captures what it's like to grow up. From the losses of innocence to the backstabbing to the friends you know tyou can always count on, this movie has it all.

The original was directed by Amy Heckerling and written by Cameron Crowe.

But now, there's a new version you can watch with one of the greatest casts ever assembled.

The star-studded table read benefits the organization CORE, which was co-founded by Penn, and its COVID-19 relief efforts to protect vulnerable communities. The event also benefitted Reform Alliance, a criminal justice reform organization.

The cast was incredible, with Jennifer Aniston reading the Phoebe Cates role of Linda Barrett and Brad Pitt playing Judge Reinhold's character, Brad Hamilton. You had Morgan Freeman narrating, and even Shia LaBeouf crushing it as Spicolli.

Sean Penn organized the entire affair. Joining Penn and the rest were Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts, Jimmy Kimmel, Henry Golding, John Legend, Ray Liotta, and Dane Cook.

One of the most memorable parts of the (shortened due to technical difficulties) hour-long reading was when Pitt and Aniston reenacted that famous red bikini scene through Freeman's narration.

As he said, "He walked to Linda. She reaches out and grabs him for a kiss, pulling him close. Then she pushes him away so he can watch as she carefully unstrapped the top of her bathing suit. The incredible Linda Barrett's breasts fall loose." Freeman then paused, ad-libbing, "Lord, have mercy."

This was an excellent way to spend an hour and get distracted from the world around me.

The script still kicks ass.
