Film Convert, the creators of color enhancing and film imitation software, is running their 2019 Short Film Competition right now...for free!

The competition features 6 different categories and will have 7 winners, including a People's Choice Award (so bust out that social media marketing plan). The winnings up for grabs include up to $1000 in cash prizes, select gear from Canon, Syrp, Small HD, and RØDE, as well as licenses for Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Studio.

Judges include Film Riot's Ryan Connolly, Indy Mogul's Ted Sim, Philip Bloom, Riccardo Fasoli, Kelsey Brannan, and Matteo Bertoli.

For the Short Film Competition, films must be between 30 seconds to 5 minutes in length and need to be submitted by November 9th 2019. They don't need to have been made during the submission period. You can enter as many films as you'd like, and as we mentioned, it's free, so go wild!  Head on over to FilmConvert to submit your films, check out the prizes, read the rules, and view the current entries. Good luck!

For an example of what Film Convert can do, check out the Vimeo Staff Pick and FilmConvert promoted video Antarctica below.

FilmConvert's plugins and software, available for most video editing platforms across macOS and Windows, allow you to easily add cinematic looks and color your video with camera profiles, grain scans, film stocks, and 3D LUTs.

A free trial is available from their website, however, you need to use the paid version of the software (so no watermarks) for the Short Film Competition (I know, I know. Their rules. Not mine).

The FilmConvert Bundle, with all the plugins as well as the Nitrate upgrade for After Effects and Premiere, is currently being offered for $199.
