We've been updating you about the pending strike over long work hours, limited breaks, and dangerous set conditions for workers. Since no agreement has been met with the AMPTP, and since an overwhelming number of workers (98.6%, to be exact) voted to strike, it's going to happen.

Of course, IATSE will continue to negotiate with AMPTP up until the strike happens. And they hope to get a new contract for 60,000 film and television workers.

But IATSE International President Matthew Loeb said in a statement today, “Without an end date, we could keep talking forever. Our members deserve to have their basic needs addressed now.”

They set the date of the pending strike for Monday, Oct. 18, effective at 12:01 a.m.

We'll keep you updated as negotiations continue.
