It's been 16 years since we last saw Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus on the big screen. Now, we only have to wait just shy of two years for their return.

The untitled Matrix sequel is set for release on May 21, 2021 release. Yup, the same day that John Wick 4 opens, which also stars Keanu Reeves. Don't be surprised when Lionsgate eventually moves the fourth film in Keanu's second action movie franchise. (Taika Waititi's Akira originally held the May 21, 2021 slot but that movie appears to be no longer happening after hitting development and casting issues earlier this year.)

The long-in-development The Flash movie, starring Ezra Miller (Justice League), appears to still be a thing -- The Wrap says IT director Andy Muschietti's first DC Comics movie hits theaters July 1, 2022.

Taika Waititi's Akira could still happen, once the director finishes making Thor: Love and Thunder for Marvel.

Are you excited for one more trip to the Matrix, or should this franchise stay in sleep mode? Also, does anyone really want this Flash movie?
