We had boots on the ground at today's Panasonic Lumix event, at which the company officially unveiled the latest shooter in its Lumix line, the highly anticipated full-frame mirrorless S1H camera, that not only boasts 6K recording but also many of the powerful pro cinema features filmmakers are looking for.

Panasonic gave us a peak at the S1H back in May during CineGear, but until now we've only had a handful of specs and clues as to when this bad boy was going to ship. So, let's take a look at what's being reported from the event.

We won't really know until we get our hands on a pre-production model of the S1H later on today, but it looks like it's built with videographers and indie filmmakers in mind. It's lightweight, has a smaller form factor, and has many of the features you might expect from a camera that's going for versatility, including tally lights, a variety of scopes, and LCD monitor for on-camera monitoring.

However, it offers plenty to get excited about if you're looking for a higher-end cine shooter, including 6K resolution at 24fps, 14 stops of dynamic range (similar to those found in cine cameras), and V-Log/V-Gamut, which is compatible with the popular colorimetry called the "VariCam Look." In fact, one filmmaker who screened a film they shot with the S1H at the event called it the "VariCam Micro" because "it’s a small camera that delivers everything a Varicam does."

Panasonic will also be working with Atomos for RAW support.

Panasonic, Leica, and Sigma, are also planning on rolling out a bevy of new L-mount lenses, 100 to be exact, by the end of the fiscal year, which include an assortment of zooms and primes. They unveiled the 24-70m f/2.8 LUMIX S Pro lens today, which retails at $2198 and is now available for pre-order.

You can take a look at the "L-Mount Lens Round Map" below to see which lenses are on the horizon.
