We all know Tom Cruise takes COVID-19 very seriously, and now he's taken it to another level. He shelled out a ton of money out of pocket to buy a few robots that will help him on set with COVID compliance.

Yes, you read that correctly.

“Tom is so serious about making sure the shoot isn’t shut down that he’s splashed out on these robots as he can’t be everywhere to ensure people are behaving themselves,” a source on the set told The Sun.

So what are these robots?

The Sun's source went on to say, “The robots are really sophisticated and rather intimidating. It’s like the Terminator, only not as violent.”

My guess would be they are Asimov Robots.

According to IEEE, is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, "An army of automatons has since been deployed all over the world to help with the crisis. They are monitoring patientssanitizing hospitalsmaking deliveries, and helping frontline medical workers reduce their exposure to the virus. Not all robots operate autonomously—many, in fact, require direct human supervision, and most are limited to simple, repetitive tasks."

While we don't know the make and model of robots, you can assume they are like the ones being used in the most advanced hospitals, ones that help limit human-to-human contact for testing and tracing.

You have to admire Cruise's dedication to the cause. I wonder if any of the robots will have a cameo in the Mission: Impossible movies he's filming currently.
