It was imminent, and finally we get in-camera formatting! Next in line - in-camera delete ProRes - would be a life-saver when you're short on cards and SSD's.
I think they've missed the boat long time ago. Still resting on the laurels of the C100/C300, Canon have a lot of catching up to do and NAB is too far away. Sure we'll see a new Cinema EOS camera(s) then, but no clever marketing campaign is going to make up for them lagging seriously behind Sony and Panasonic in almost every segment of the camera business.
the amount of work that went into making this is intimidating
Very thin budget for quality light. At least $5000 for anything decent. Invest as much as you can in good quality light kit. Dedo's x 3 and a soft key. Avoid cheap LED's as their diode's come from the lowest quality bins. B&H has the Basic 3 x Dedo kit (DL4Hs) http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/155301-REG/Dedolight_K24B_Basic_3_... which are going to last longer than your camera. For a soft key source - you don't have money for a Kino Flo Diva 201 or equivalent so maybe a Chimera or Photoflex with a softbox for a soft source.
Still 8MP and 1080 max? No 4K? Are we in 2012 still? 240fps is limited to 720 - sure it will come in handy, but 4K would have made more sense and upping the res to 12MP
I meant deleting clips in-camera above.
