One thing I find frustrating about the Solo -- correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't tilt that head when it's in monopod mode, right? You can only shoot straight ahead?
By the way, this product now seems to be discontinued! Only available at much inflated price on Amazon.
There are other consumer HDMI alternatives, but not sure what they're like.
Cheesycam also has a write up about a much cheaper alternative with Google Chromecast plus Android phone.
Good point about magnify!
About the pictures, I think it's worthwhile being a little cautious. I mean, firstly, they're pictures rather than a promise in writing. Secondly, it's not 100% clear to me whether they're camera overlay or features built into monitor. Thirdly, maybe they're just concept art! Who knows?
Well, Helix is a better design and better made product. If you Google round, you'll see some negative reviews of the original Ronin (eg http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/stabilizers-steadicam-etc/527426-dji-ronin-e...), but I'm not sure anyone has a bad word to say about the original Helix, apart from price.
Yeah, you will. It's just that your job will be to operate the Halo/Andra.
Apologies for the dumbass question, but could someone reassure me that the Video Assist has all the normal monitor features? It doesn't seem to be explicitly mentioned in the article. Audio meters, histogram, waveform, pixel to pixel zoom, false color, monochrome display, peaking, etc, etc?
