Article Comment – Watch: How to Capture Different Emotions with Different Lenses

If I understood correctly, I think this is also the focal length of an iPhone camera. Some cinematographer at cinesummet 2017 talked about shooting almost everything on 24mm, because most people experience a lot of their life through their smartphone. To them this focal length would seem more real. But I don't know if you he meant shooting on full frame or super 35, that wasn't clear to me.

Boards Comment – Cinematography. Career Or Not?

If you want to do movies, because you want to do movies, I think you should check out the other jobs that it entails besides cinematography. Right now cinematography is the shiny, shiny thing that everyone one wants to be. I've recently stepped over to sound engineering - which I've found to be a lot of fun - and suddenly I got offers for gigs like I didn't get at all before. So look around.

Article Comment – When Will VR Have its 'Jurassic Park' Moment?

Yeah, just like 3D. Nobody makes 3D movies anymore... Wait, that's not right. VR is not a fad, it's a new way of telling stories. 3D may only add dimension, but VR changes your perspective. I don't think VR is going to overtake movies and make them obsolete, just like how theater didn't die once movies went into full swing. Electronic music didn't kill live performances, hell CD's couldn't even kill vinyl. VR is just a cool new medium. It's the glorious bastard child of films and games.
