Article Comment – RED Introduces 8K Full-Frame WEAPON Camera, Shipping End of 2015

I made the jump from Scarlet-X to Dragon in November, and I was honestly eagerly awaiting this upgrade as a "body upgrade" that would cost about the same as the last upgrade to Dragon. It was completely unexpected to read that they decided to carve the whole body out of Magnesium, and it's really discerning to see REDUser guys pooping their pants over it. The only viable option for the lower-end Scarlet is one last shot at upgrading to an Epic Dragon before June 2015 ends... for another $9,500. I'm not sure I need 6K for my projects, nor do I need the slow-motion capabilities. Rentability... maybe? I think that's the end of the RED ladder for me until a simple metal version or upgrade is available... and even then, I'd never trade in this Scarlet Dragon body for as low as $5k. Here's to hoping for some success this year.
