The 7D Mkii has confirmed my shift to Blackmagic. This is a minor upgrade of the camera and an insult to anyone loyal to Canon. Their disregard for consumers is evident in the LP-E6N battery alone: an opportunity for Canon to sell more accessories while forsaking the 3rd Party manufacturers and the shooters themselves which have invest in accessories for the 7D.
Canon is to innovation what mold is to bread; a byproduct of the stale. The 5D Mkii lit a fire under millions of filmmakers and changed the game. Instead of recognizing this, encouraging it, Canon became the Nintendo of the camera world and started dictating to users how they should create: slowly, expensively, with perpetual re-investment in minor upgrades.
Mold did have a pleasant surprise for bread. It was the basis of penicillin. But this innovation had nothing to do with a bakery, just as the filmmaking world has moved on from Canon.
Very disappointing footage from both videos. The latter of which being depressing and poorly made to boot, neither of which helps sell the camera.
