Benjamin Dewhurst
writer/director
I'm an award-winning writer/director. I also do a bit of producing, editing, and shooting - I believe in being as versatile as possible in our increasingly-digital world. I'm based in the Midwest, I love playing complicated board games, I drink a lot of chocolate stout, and I eat a lot of pizza.
At :41 - "Plenty of soap" got me.
Two things I would keep in mind are crop factor, and mount type. I've loved living in the world of M43 since the GH2, but I have to admit there are times I wish I could get full-frame wide shots. 70D isn't full frame, granted, but it's still wider than the crazy 2.8 crop of the BMPC. Of course, the flip side is that it's easier to achieve a telephoto FOV with cropped.
Another thing to keep in mind with BMPC specifically, is that there's no formatting of the card on-camera (yet), and you have to use a very specific sandisk (64g 95mbs extreme I think) to shoot raw.
All that said, the BMPC is pretty incredible, and I think I'm jumping on getting another at this crazy price. First time buyers (especially those who own Canon glass) should consider throwing in the Metabones EF to BMPC adapter with the savings on this deal.
Thanks Vince! We'll have something out on this soon.
Haha thank you, Alex, I missed that edit during transcription. Updated, with a link to our Eisenstein posts to boot. Or should I say "Das Boot"? ... I need more coffee.
For the sake of argument then John -- that's when I, the intrepid eq manager or cam dept crew member, would have a StickNFind set to "leash" mode, and know you were walking off with the goods. : ) Again though, I'm open to suggestions down here for GPS alternatives, I agree with you there.
Sad to admit I once washed a SanDisk 64gig Extreme. Still works, though, and came out mountain fresh! Gotta love SD's.
