I make mildly entertaining short films.
The D7000 is a great stills camera, can't say the same video-wise. I mainly want access to higher frame rates (60 fps at least) for slow mo, better image quality, and generally more intuitive controls and interfaces than what the D7000 offers. I also want a camera I can carry on for the next 5-6 years. All these choices are good enough in my book, but I want a second opinion from anybody who knows them more intimately.
I've been mainly concerned about the shortcomings of the D7000. It's a great camera, mind you, but it isn't sufficient enough for what I want to create. The biggest thing I want out of my next camera is 60p at 1080p. I really want slow motion capability, something that the D7000 doesn't support at all. 4k is optional. I don't see the requirement to start working in 4k workflow for the content I create, plus the fact that I can't afford the infrastructure for it. I've read tons of info on all these cameras but now I just want an opinion from someone who's actually had experience with them.
