Yes it'd be nice if they added it, but in the mean time, it's fairly easy to shoot in RAW and then convert to 2.5K ProRes on ingest through Resolve. I do this quite a bit lately. You also get the added benefit of tweaking white balance before conversion.
Seems like these rumors never include info about the codec... no doubt it will be 4K, but with a low bit rate codec. So in the end it will still only be possible to do basic grades like the current generation.
I like the idea of this, but still makes me nervous not being able to monitor the audio.
How sure are people that this thing even has 60p? All I see is 60/50i. Here's the line in the press release:
"The camera supports AVCHD bit rates up to 24 Mbps (LPCM) at a maximum resolution of 1920×1080. Frame rates of 60i, 50i, 24p, 25p, PF30, and PF24 are all available to meet the needs of your production workflow"
Sure looks like there's a lot of contrast in that image for ungraded?
Wow this might save me a lot of time. No more round tripping to Premiere maybe?
