Article Comment – What Is the Male Gaze? (Definition and Examples)

We are talking about filmmaking here right? You know movies with rape, murder and other terrible things in it. Filmmaking is an expression it doesn't have to true or accurate it can even have crazy things in it like monsters and spaceships and other planets. What is there to agree or disagree with? It's either important to the story or its not. Art has always creative sexualizations, its the story to be told it's there for a purpose not always just because. Not all film is porn, and many argue porn is art....but apparently so is canned artist shit. Anyway strange post from me here for a equally weird write up.

Article Comment – Forget What You’ve Heard—Sensor Size Does Matter, and This Is Why

I don't think any of this matters also glass is designed for a certain sensor or film size. So a 50mm lens designed for Super 35 will cover the same pov as the 50mm designed for Full Frame.

Article Comment – Is ARRI’s New Camera Almost Here? Yes, It Is!

Generally speaking Super 35 is the better choice especially on smaller productions. That being said it can't have compressed RAW as that would violate REDs patents. Also I'm sure this won't cost 6 grand like REDs S35 offerings. It's not the kind of camera where compression or cheap anamorphic lens are going to really apply.

Article Comment – Yesterday's Tragic Accident Shows Why We Should Ban Real Guns from Film Sets

I agree with the sentiment of this article, but not the recommendations. I would like all accidents to be avoided. There will always be accidents on sets. While we still don't know all the details, we do know it should have been avoided. Trying to blame the gun is always the wrong. I don't know but I believe that the gun was loaded with dummy rounds or spent rounds and somehow a live blank round was put in the gun which I think was a revolver. Which would be hard for Alec to clear, forcing him to trust what he was told. I don't want to speculate on any real details here if someone knows more please post. We should address what went wrong, not just say no more guns on set, because that is just not practical, less we end up with a complete CGI filmmaking.

Article Comment – Power L-Series Devices and More With This ZILR Power Kit

This is a complete rip off, you can get two batteries for the price of one. Also a LCD screen for battery life and same feature set. Just search on Amazon for the following "JYJZPB 2 Pack 7800mAh NP-F970 Replacement Battery"

Article Comment – How Does the Sony FX3 Stand Up to the Competition?

Really need to include the Z CAM E2-S6 and E2-F6. FAR better cameras and the S6 is far cheaper, you could fully kit a S6 for less then the price of this FX3, let a lone 6K RAW or 6K Prores.
