In the last four years David has won 32 International awards and been nominated 9 times for his short films, and a number of the cast and crew have also managed award status (23 awards). “This is why I make films”. David said. Winning awards is the recognising that the cast and crew put in the hours for the love of film. “This is very self-satisfying for me’, he said.
David’s 2017 film, ‘We Need To Talk’, is a 42 minute short film, about trying to prevent youth suicide, a topic that he has handled with thoughtfulness, integrity and respect. David has written a feature film script with the same title and this script is slated to be produced in 2020. ‘We Need To Talk’ has won 21 International awards.
David's latest film ‘Are You Okay’, completed in 2018, has won 18 times on the international circuit in the last six months, and has one nomination.
Just recently David was invited to speak about his latest film at Sundance 2018, and also the Cannes International Film Festival 2018. In October 2018 David sat on the jury for the 35th Bogota International film festival in Columbia. He was the only non-Colombian to sit on the jury. In the same month, late October, David was asked to sit on a panel, at a special event, with another five film makers at the American Film Market (AFM) held in Los Angeles, to talk about his latest film and upcoming projects.
David’s passion for his film work is inspiring as he commits himself to each project with a keen eye and natural ability, with admirable results.
In 2019 David has been asked again to sit on a Panel of film makers at AFM, in Santa Monica (November), and also at the Toronto Film Market (September) to talk about his latest projects.
