This is quite odd indeed. But hey, at least the EF mount works.
Well done to Apple for including 10bit video. It looks great for what it is. BTW, I don't think the new iphones have 120hz displays as written in the article, I think they're 60?
I like this camera, but just like on the GH5s, the lack of IBIS is disconcerting. Sure, that's a cinema camera, but why not have the option for run and gun situations? Especially since I'd be using such a camera with a speedbooster with an EF lens that might or might not get supported, I'd need some form of quick stabilization that doesn't revolve around heavy gimbals.
I highly suggest everyone watches this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66ip7Fjimm8
This was released BEFORE the advent of the pandemic. It's all there: the whole strategy as to why it makes sense for Disney going streaming, and why this would eventually kill theaters. The pandemic simply accelerated the situation. Iger was not lying when he said so too.
RIP theatrical talkies: 1928-2028
(pragmatically-speaking, it will take a few years for the last chain to close down, only a few underground art theaters will remain after that).
I welcome this. I hope more older movies do a 4k rescan. I recently stopped my subscription to Netflix, Hulu and others, and instead bought a 4k Bluray. I just don't like most of the content these streamers are putting out, so I decided to own the classics instead. It's not cheaper, but it's the content I actually like.
For the price, this is a great release, IMHO. The only other camera with capability of 10bit at that price is the G9.
