Director of Photography / Film and Photography Teacher
Franc Péret is a multicultural professional cinematographer, photographer and teacher, working in Asia since 21 years (Taipei, Tokyo and now Shanghai) who is able to communicate in English, French and Chinese. He also has some notion of Japanese.
In 1986, he started his career as a photojournalist (for magazines and photo agency), based in Paris a work that brings him to visit more than 20 countries.
This start helped him to not be stuck in a single specialty. As a photojournalist, he was trained to shoot portrait, sport, landscape, product, documentary, lifestyle, events and model in a wide range of lighting situation.
Beside his photography career, Franc worked in film industry for 3 years in Taipei (as still photographer, assistant director and then cameraman) from 1994 to 1997.

Living in Shanghai since 2005, Franc started teaching photography and film making with ELC (Expat Learning Center) Shanghai.
So far, in 11 years, he taught with great success to more than 850 students from all over the world.

Nowadays, Franc is making a living with those 3 overlapping activities as a filmmaker, photographer and teacher.
Franc is also writing, lighting, shooting and editing his own short movies since year 2000.
He is producing an average of 2 short-movies a year.
