Actor/ Filmmaker/ producer
It’s my pleasure to introduce myself to you. My name is Harry Dzumhur and I am a resident of The Netherlands ( Europe). When I was 10 years old I started to film with double 8 film. One of my short 8 mm films was about a shoe that was moving by itself. It took me and my brothers hours to finish filming, because we had to shoot 1 frame at the time to get to 18 frames for one second ( the framerate for 8 mm was between 16-18 frames/second) It was a lot of fun to do.
When I was in my thirties I began to work professionally as an actor, but it was always a dream to make my own movies, like I did when I was a kid. In 2006 I attended a film competition about Fair Trade in Amsterdam . My short animation Foortie Soe which I wrote and directed won the second price. This year ( 2016) I hope to start filming on a short movie that is dealing with Alzheimer’s disease. I have cast Willeke van Ammelrooy who is ( in my humble opinion) one of the best actresses in the Netherlands. The movie Antonia where she performed the lead won the Oscar for best foreign movie in 1996. She also played the mother of Sandra Bullock in The Lake House. The composer for my short is Randy Miller (The Marvel Experience, Without Limits). Mr Miller has collaborated with such notable actors and filmmakers as Robert Towne, Zhang Yimou, Oliver Stone, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Tom Cruise, Jerry Rees, and Robert Dornhelm
