We use plenty of Smallrig parts and they're well-machined. And the current stuff is even much improved over their earlier designs.
I've played around with the 28-75. The zoom ring is slow and kind of sticky, and the build quality is pretty plasticky and cheap. But the AF is pretty fast and accurate and if you're on a budget it's quite sharp.
