As a director you HAVE to be able to trust your DP any you did nothing wrong by instilling that trust.
Though I also have to agree that RAW is infinitely better than ProRes and there are very user-friendly work flows out there to deal with Cinema DNGs, it should not have been a huge problem.
It also depends if you have someone experienced to grade the film, if they can use a RAW file properly you'll have something stunning, if not you might as well have shot on an I phone.
In any case for 25k a RAW work flow is most certainly possible and may have (without you knowing) actually make the filming more efficient and less expensive!
Exactly the same dilemma...
Except; I cant find a second of FS7 footage I like and when I tried to grade some footage myself it looked so 'video-y'
But the KineMini I can theoretically grade in Capture One which I've been doing for 10 years even though Raw sounds like a pain in the lower back.
Also Sony vs Chineese wizardry is a question I can't help asking...
Intesting, looks a fair bit heavier and it can't go as low as those Solo or Ace L telescopic legs
Wait! Let's not forget the Ace L's head has an illuminated level, these should not be underestimated!
I've got an Ace M, but it struggles under the weight of a fully rigged C100. I was totally sold on the Miller Solo but looking at the Ace L I might just stay with what I know. Is the 8kg limit really that much better than the Ace M's 6kg?
Though the Miller compass 20 or 25 are very tempting... anyone tried those?
Promise Pegasus 2 R8
Or the R6/4 depending on your budget.
