Notes are either/or - though again bc it's one person you might be able to negotiate - I was able to take pretty good notes and I bet you could record the session if need be as well
I dont know it
Hey - - how would you suggest writers without friends to read their scripts or industry access go about improving their skills aside from writing more? Just reading? I get that the payment is hard and a bitter pill but this is what thousands of people are doing to learn and get ahead, we have to acknowledge that and figure out what's worth time and money.
Both BL and Stage 32 do have the ability to update drafts. Evan I believe will read a rewrite at a discount as long as it's done in revision mode. But you'd have to reach out to confirm with him.
Thanks for all this - I know of Coverfly but have never used (same as WeScreenplay) - They're all Industry Arts programs, which means they are all owned by the same company that also owns Tracking Board, Screencraft, Script Lab, Launch Pad, etc - I would be wary of anyone charging across platforms for access. Especially when they're charging for each specific brand etc - we might have to look into them as well in a follow-up article. For huge companies like this to exist, they have to PROFIT off the Hope Machine. That means they have tons of contests and services so they have tons of money coming in to support the staff they need to continue to have these things - that will always make me wary about how money comes in and where it goes. Does it go back into helping people? Again, more research is required.
Great point! I wondered that myself - did I pay for accolades that got me close, therefore much more incentivized to spend more to see if I got over the hump on the next draft. I guess that's part of the inherent risk as well.
