Superhero movies are boring, yes. Eye candy fantasies with paper thin plots and flat characters. I’ve seen some, where entertaining and frankly, don’t remember any neither don’t care to. None will get to best movies list. Besides they have so many digital vfx- and so fake- that you start to hate digital vfx! Right now there is a list of new superhero movies that in spite of big actors in and publicity, I’ll not see. On the contrary, Dune has been a good surprise! With the current technology, there is a ton of sci-fi classics that can be made into spectacular movies (without hyper muscle guys with tight suits capes and masks nor silly villains). Hollywood, what are you waiting for?
You are right! Besides, the pure black cinematography of a key episode that leaved our tv as turned off. That was a big mistake hard to understand in such a big production.
I like For all mankind. Ted Lasso barely funny. Foundation visually impressive but missed what Psychohistory is about and turns boring. Invasion is the most boring invasion series ever. I think apple tv series lack action. A lot of money but no punch. Try harder screenwriters!
Don’t watch Dune on a TV! It’s made for large screen and a visual feast! You’ll miss a lot on TV
Why don't you read the book instead? I did in my teens. It's a classic sci-fi easy read and entertaining. Then, you'll be waiting for the second part. And more future versions by other Directors! In fact, I think some big streaming should make a TV series that help us forget the cheap 2003 version.
I remember watching Darkman on release in New York. I was very impressed of the visual style of Sam Raimi! I think many big-budget action films later where influenced by Darkman, and still do.
