I just wish they had internal ND! Or at least a slot to put filters in that 44mm of dead space!!
LOWLIGHT is the greatest weakness.... I got the GH4, The ergonomy and features of this camera is the best of all the DSLRs, i mean it has a syncro scan! I would say Magic Lantern beats it in menu design and especially on screen info display. it is for me the best display after RED camera. No info on your image, excellent focus peaking, much better than most cameras! ...but back to the GH series. I love my GH4 except its lack of low light capability. I'm ok with the smaller sensor as i use a speedboster, focus is slow for photos, but all good for video... Its the low light performance that is just so poor compared to the competition, i don't see a stop improvement making me want to get the GH5. Too many times my images are too grainy and difficult to pull up when needed.
Just not sure how this camera is better than Sony's offering.. and is going to be less noisy/better in Low Light? Seems panasonic has really fallen behind.
Lots of wonderful things to take away but a highlight for me is showing those little moments with characters doing those little details that we so often lack in films. Wonderful post, thank you for sharing.. great essay by bond. thank you for sharing.
This is a bit disappointing. Only top layers of short-keys, all the initial ones we learn. There was nothing new. I miss the way FCP7 managed the short-keys, it had a layout of the keyboard and you could select different combinations of modifier keys and see the short-keys related to those modifier, much more intuitive, visual and efficient way of mapping. Premiere still needs to evolve in practical ways like this. Love the new colour grading tool, but man some of the basics are still lacking. I hate programming shortkeys in premier.
Saw this last night. Blew us all away. So many layers of narrative and commentary and cross commentary. Filmmaking tour de force! Writing and acting is brilliant. Sound design is as good as it gets, real design meaningful design. And then the film being all in one shot just kept it feeling live and under pressure. Simply amazing unique film. I looked for everything behind the scenes to absorb as much as possible the process of making, this clip is neat and the others i've found, but its a lot of promo stuff really.. I hope there will be a real making of about this film because it deserves it.
