Hmm, I dont recognize any of your issues.
While they could do with a little UI overhaul (there are several topics on easy to implement UI additions/fixes) and the core could be faster (ae12 was faster than 18 for example), I do think they are improving quite a bit every now and then.
I like the way davinci is going too, but in my work we are working together with many different parties at the same time, and using the industry standard is neccessary. At the moment, that is adobe for our segment.
And yet...the sony's color science always kinda bothers me a bit. I have the FS7, and a couple of black magics - and where getting great colors out of the blackmagics is a breeze, I always struggle a bit with the sony. Could be just me and/or my workflow though...
Its a bit of a double edge here. Sure, if you compare these exact parts, then it may be a good idea to go for the imac pro. But do you need these exact parts? Are they the best option for you? As someone who uses After Effects in depth, davinci resolve and premiere pro, these specs aren't by any means my 'perfect build', but...so much more expensive than my perfect build.
I just cant imagine ever spending 5k in a computer in which I cannot change a single thing. Nope...not for me...
(To be honest, the same goes for most of apple's equipment for me)
Seriously...suggesting After Effects to someone who only wants to edit simple video and currently uses Windows Movie Maker? If you want to suggest anything from the Adobe pipeline, surely Premiere Pro comes to mind...but I believe thats way overkill as well.
It appears your MP4 converter is just crap. Why are you even converting to begin with? If I remember correctly the canons all shoot in MP4 already, and surely windows movie maker can read mp4s? If you need to convert, maybe give handbrake a try...but try to not convert it first. Maybe movie maker still needs some codecs or something?
You can aslo try to fiddle with the export settings in your exporter. Try 1080p resolution and a bitrate of about 8mbit or somewhere in that ballpark.
For BOTH iPad and iPhone...wooow!
lol...
