Well the fisheye on the gopro rules it out of most proffessional projects. Even if you use a de-fisheye effect and a narrower Fov. And you have to get really close to everything. Basically the problems of the old phantoms with Gopro's are still there. Karma is a cool kit with the detachable gimbal tho. But Im not sold on the mavic to replace my phantom 3 yet either, even if the form factor is very convenient. I need to be able to attach ND's or atleast control the aperture to avoid that jaggy motion high shutterspeeds give.
Kind of cool effect. But It's so overused I wouldn't want to use it
We have had Macs (Mac Pro's and iMacs) since the beginning at the studio i work for and all was going well. Until we decided to build a powerful grading & VFX PC workstation among all our macs. The list of problems it brought with it is incredibly long. So I am very cautious of switching my personal workstation to a PC even tho the price is tempting an my own Mac pro is growing old. Also, I hate Windows.
Hehe a bit of chest-thumping is accepted. For 2x anamorhpic lenses you need the 4:3 sensor of the Alexa XT to get the full benefits of what anamorphics can bring to the table, dunno bout raw tho, maybe to explore different options of "feels" in post. I would also have liked to see some shots of the actual set of the film he is talking about.
