Article Comment – 'You Don't Want to Kill the Thing': Lessons from 'Ex Machina' Director Alex Garland

I loved this film! And as the poster above me said, that "rule" sounds interesting, definitely something I would like to apply.

Boards Comment – Does it look like a Night scene?

I'm not a fan of filming night scenes during the day and then fixing it in post, but your test N° 2 does look like it was shoot during night time, so.. Haha, good luck Taha.

Boards Comment – Opinions on this short film

Well, I think the main thing you need to work on is, as of technical aspects, the audio and lighting. Also I felt at the beginning that this was going to be a comedy short film but it turned out to be the opposite. You know what I mean? I felt disoriented as to what was this about. You could try to focus your story a little more for the next one.. Keep on practicing and making stuff if you really feel passionate about this :)

Article Comment – Learn How Joss Whedon Approaches Story, Writing & Directing in 10 Minutes

He's right, I agree that when you write something you feel the need to protect it, but we should learn how to let go a bit of our stories because what works in paper not always works as a film told by images. Great interview!
