Juan Manuel Barrero
He graduated in Film and Photography technologist UNITEC, Bogotá. He has worked in the following areas: video, product photography, fashion photography, travel photography, cinematography of 16 and 35 mm, photojournalism throughout Colombia with Press Agency, COLPRENSA. In 2007, he decided to move to Choco, the region most neglected and least accessible of Colombia, where social conflict problems occur daily to develop photo essays about the people of the region. It has developed projects for OXFAM, GTZ, DIAKONIA, USAID, ACDIVOCA and has worked with the United Nations (UN) and its various offices, programs and organizations in Chocó and Nariño. He has also collaborated with international news agencies (Reuters, AFP, AP, Reuters) in Colombia. Currently, lives in Bogota, working with EFE, the Miami Herald, Getty Images, Publik, IPS, while continuing forward personal projects.
