For 5 thousand dollars this camera rocks right out of the box. With a bigger than super35 sensor and switching from global to rolling, the options on this camera looks like it's a winner. Not only that, the footage looks fantastic. Great job Blackmagic. Hopefully all the issues that needed to be addressed have been with this camera.
Remember when myspace came out, and everyone in the world thought they were going to break through and be famous because of their great band? Online Filmmaking has become the same with all the crap content out there and soon will be ridiculed for the saying "I am a filmmaker". Filmmaking has transformed into its own parody. This is an example.
Yep this footage is what Sony, Panasonic and Canon lack at this price range. Alexa type footage. Its milky and has great skin tones. All the low light bitching is just amatuer and it shows from the same conversation of people who talk about it over and over again. This footage rocks and you definitely can make a movie look like a movie without all the heavy trendy lazy FilmConvert plugin and play way nowadays. Good job Blackmagic.
I love that sweet 8 bit internal......
Thats what's cool about forums and opinions I definitely can comment on whatever the hell I want. Learn to light a scene don't depend on the newest technology to do your work for you.
Where are all these low lights films or commercials that the mass demand? I haven't seen one yet where I thought, " I need that camera, to shoot this idea with absolutely no light". Yea yea, I saw the sony one, ok cool. Now what? The only practicality for low light is probably weddings and shoot to edit productions. Narrative, I see no use for anything that needs high ISO's unless you don't know how to use a light meter or light a scene with.... lights.
