Article Comment – Samyang/Rokinon are Coming Out with a Set of True Cine Prime Lenses

I think if they can keep it at $2,000 or slightly below, they can have a real winner in terms of value. Hopefully the optical and build quality will improve enough to warrant the price increase, but I am super excited for this.

There just isn't enough indie-budget high quality primes outside of the Veydras, which is of course, only for mFT.

Article Comment – 2015 Academy Award Winners

Definitely felt the same while I was watching Birdman. By the time it ended, I was very sure it will win. So happy for the movie, as well as for Inarritu for his Best Director nod and Lubezki for Best Cinematography nod. And of course, Best Original Screenplay as well.

As good as Michael Keaton was, I wasn't surprised that Redmayne would have won since that role was incredibly challenging from both the physical and mental aspects. A very demanding role and Oscar worthy indeed.

Now I just gotta go watch Whiplash and Imitation Game =D

Article Comment – How to Light a Film that Looks Like One Continuous Take: Chivo Talks 'Birdman'

Hands down my favorite movie of 2014. It was a master class in cinematography and lighting, and surely will be talked about for years, if not decades.

The acting and dialogue also really draw you in, especially when between Norton & Keaton, as well as Keaton & Stone. I had high expectations going into the movie and seriously, I couldn't stop smiling at all the things that were happening from an artistic and technical point of view.

Best Picture/Best Director/Best Cinematography winners right here, I'm calling it right now!
