Jonny Lewis

Self shooting editor

I am a Royal Television Society award-winner and graduate of Newport Documentary Film School. I work as a director, video editor (mainly editing in  Final Cut Pro X) and camera operator, specialising in documentary and currently work a full time role for Goldmark Art. I also do some occasional freelance work for Sports Media Services and Welsh Rugby Union TV, as a cameraman & self shooting editor. I regularly film at 6 Nations rugby, at the Millennium Stadium Cardiff (now called Principality Stadium, which doesn't sound right to me), and have filmed live rugby broadcast on Welsh language channel S4C, a commercial for Champion System and PRO Rugby USA broadcast on Time Warner Sports Network and ONE World Sports in America, as well as completing a placement at BBC Wales as a production assistant (where all I really did was make cups of tea). One of the most enjoyable projects I worked on was a series of films for USA Rugby at the Rugby World Cup.

Article Comment – Final Cut Pro X Gets Massive Overhaul with VR, Color Controls and More

This post proves the point that No Film School seem to be biased against fcpx as they talk about the "Massive Overhaul" that happened last year, thinking it's only just happened now! So it seems no one at NFS has even looked at fcpx for over a year?

How about including CoreMelts Scribeomatic plug-in in your list? A cloud based speech to text service that puts your dialogue back into FCP X either as markers or lets you build a rough cut right in the application by clicking on sentences. Here is the info & demo from NAB. https://coremelt.com/blogs/news/nab2017-presentations-scribeomatic

Article Comment – Watch: Here's How NAB 2017 Changed Post-Production

Also From Coremelt is Chromatic... "Also revealed at NAB2017 in beta: Chromatic, our all in one color grading plugin that combines curves, color wheels, tracked masks, inside-outside mask grades, selective color correction, LUT loading and management and degrain, regrain all in one tool. That sounds like a pretty big claim, so just watch the beta reveal video": https://coremelt.com/blogs/news/nab-2017-presentations-chromatic-color-g...
