I just want to make movies
Ha I'd love to check it out! I love your site!
I'm sincerely sorry I posted this. Please forgive me.
I was actually interviewed by Matt Workman for his podcast. I love what he is doing and he should never stop. Teaching is sadly laughed at as a profession but without it we don't progress. Matt is training this generation of young cinematographers to embrace digital. Being able to breakdown lighting scenarios in the 3D and VR is amazing. I haven't seen it taught like this anywhere else.
When I couldn't afford to go back to film school I turned to the internet: Film Riot, Neumann Films, and nofilmschool. These sights are here to teach us, to turn around and insult them does nothing but show your ignorance. Insult a teacher for teaching creationism over evolution in a science class. Do not insult a teacher for teaching 1st grade filmmaking because you're in a higher level. They're spreading knowledge and anyone that goes on their comments to insult them is despicable. Maybe their teachings don't help you that's fine. We only have so many teachers that teach from the heart so maybe you should take your foot out of your mouth. Have a great day.
I remember sneaking downstairs to watch this movie with my dad I caught the horrifying stabbing scene. Probably one of the most gruesome deaths I can remember. I felt real.
My Grandfather told me that opening was the most accurate to his experience storming the beach. Spielberg interviewed him and many veterans. He said it was missing the loud missiles overhead. I watch that scene and I'm astonished every time. I believe it cost 11 million dollars for that opening scene. It took 4 weeks and none of it was storyboarded.
J.J really wanted to push for Jar Jar Binks to be the main villian so the studio took over and put Adam Driver's face on him. Truly a shame if you ask me. They should honor the director's intention. That's why J.J said "I hate star wars and they're stupid"
Truly inspiring. ILM puts hours into frames that flip by like nothing. Animation deserves more respect.
Probably one of the best cinematography teachers, we spoke for a good amount of time after our interview. He's got an awesome plan with his website. Can't wait to see what he rolls out with next year!
