Brilliant article George. You remind(ed) me that important work is so well-planned. I'm comparing my observation to the daily "pay the bills" projects that help me watch time fly by.
I'm a gracious enough video producer, so thank you. Respectfully, could you have made this simple tip more complicated? I mean, "light, reflector, great results." I don't know, maybe more information about working with the zipper on the 5 in 1 or a proper way to plug the light into the electrical socket. "OR," subtitles in 5 languages?
This article presented a very nice establishment shot which helped me by setting the scene. Some of the attached still images and nicely done video moved (me) into the necessary medium shot. This provided me understanding about the things it takes in production (oh my theirs part of that word again). The close up is up to me to pick a job, pick any job at all (and Jason can tell you what it is).
We (all) tend to use so many of these techniques whether we realize it or not. Many of us do so by nature and/or experience over the years, including tips we find along the way. This summary adds a "face to the name" and that is of value. Thank you.
Yellowstone's popularity is quite simple.
1. It is well-produced film-wise. Viewers won't notice that per sé.
2. AND THE WINNER IS... everyone on the show is so f'd up that it makes "us" feel like we are (more) normal than we probably are.
Bottom line: The show gives us permission to raise our heads up a bit higher in a world where kids can no longer play (safely) outdoors.
