I hate when smartphone makers say that there's something cinematic... so far there's NOTHING cinematic about this phone.
"users have control over features like framing guides, shutter speed angle, touch autofocus, auto exposure" that shit you can get it with the most basic video recording app, that's not cinematic. The AF of the sony A9? that's not cinematic as well, and honestly I don't understand why is the need of such a powerful AF system when with such a small sensor the hyperfocal is at about 2 feet, so everything beyond 2 feet is in focus, basically 97% of the shots could be done just with the focus on infinity. 4K? thats detail on the image, a today's standard, but not necessary cinematic. 4K 60p? definitely not... the only cinematic thing would be HDR, or a log profile, and so far all of the videos have blow out highlights, oversharpened look and crappy filters that you can easily add in post.
Gimme decent dynamic range, log like profile, not oversharpened image and nice color science and then whe're talking about cinematic. So far the only cinematic phone was the LG V30 that had LG-log and you had S-log comparable dynamic range, and full manual control natively (even peaking) that was released 3 years ago.. This looks indeed like a good phone, but not cinematic.. that's pure marketing BS..
The HDMI input for using the phone as monitor or recorder is pretty cool though..
