Looking forward to seeing this. I'm a big fan of Casey Affleck - super talented.
Excellent interview. Thanks for sharing!
Looking forward to listening to this. I've been searching the internet for a good filmmaking podcast for a while. The closest thing I've found so far is "Meet The Filmmaker", which is series of interviews with various filmmakers/cast/crew. There's some really inspiring interviews worth listening to, but you have to dig through them. Pre-2-years ago interviews are here (https://player.fm/series/meet-the-filmmaker) and newer ones are available on iTunes here (https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/meet-the-filmmaker/id301899522?mt=2).
Awesome. Looks like Panasonic's response to the Samsung NX1 / NX500. On the Panasonic side, the tiltable EVF and fully rotatable screen seem better. On the Samsung side, you have 1080p120, 28 MP images, and AF for video. I'd love to see a comparison between the IS systems. I can attest to the Samsung IS being really impressive. Either way, the tools we have to work with are just getting better and better. This is what I love about competing brands :)
For everyone saying "this was just a fun movie, stop being so critical" - that's totally fair and unfortunately I would say you're right. I should've had much lower expectations. The problem for me is the original Jurassic Park (in my opinion) is a great work of cinema and it's really hard to turn that nostalgia off. The original isn't just a flashy blockbuster of CGI dinosaurs - it's a fantastic story that poses a truly provocative question. The writing is excellent, the characters are multi-dimensional and feel real, the visual story-telling/cinematography is economic and so effective...it's all around great filmmaking. The depth of the original is what made this newer one feel so shallow.
Absolutely stunning. I think the video could be cut way down though. The repetition really took away from the impact for me. Amazing footage nonetheless.
