Nice point about steadicam looking more human - it is very interesting seeing the merging of gimbals and steadicam.
We occasionally use a vest and armfor a steadicam with a gimbal and tweak the software settings for ease in and ease out.
Love the podcast
Currently, your article is claiming 40 GB transfer rate. Please correct it 2 5 GB or 40 gigabit. While it is definitely impressive, I don't think we should be misleading people with false information. Thank you for correcting it
The biggest thing to keep in mind is you are mentioning a $15k camera and a $2k camera for comparison. In the car industry thats like comparing a $20k Kia to a $150k Mercedes fully loaded. Sure, if you want to spend $7.5 times the price go ahead. Its pretty clear which company is rattling the bird cage for cinema camera makers and bringing out competition.
Its companies like BM
I would love prores raw support!
The real question is if Canon is still playing their silly games like "it has Autofocus, but not while recording in 4k"... Or if they do 4k with with an additional crop over their already cropped apsc / super 35mm sensor.
I see companies like BlackMagic that release a similar size sensor camera for 2500 that does 6k raw at 60fps, but Canon still has their dual pixel auto focus system that is a leader.
If they roll out that AF, without silly limitations, it could be a solid contender but they havent innovated without criplling their cameras in gears.
Perhaps overprotective of their cinema line, who wouldnt choose Canon for this size of camera anyways now that BMPCC6k exists.
At least we can be happy to see some updated camera body from the 80d :)
I am happy to see GoPro innkvate in the space before DJI completely wipes them away with their action cameras/app ecosystem.
