Sigma 14mm 1.8 was announced this year...
That's how american justify everything with their own understanding.
Nikon is pronounced as Neekon like you said in Japan. Only American pronounce it as N "Y" kon.
Europe pronounced it as "Nee"kon as well.
When it comes to pronunciation for foreign language, americans language become weird.
My name is Minwoo Park. But in reality, it is pronounced as Minu Bak.
Nikon was born in Japan, not in the USA, please don't push your American ideology to original.
Hyundai is pronounced as Hyun "Dae", ironically american investors screwed to pronounce it wrong, and Hyundai actually made an Ads about it.
Well, americans still don't get it. haha.
You seems like teaching kids about filmmaking. Please do not misinform your kids with stubborn idea. Just go to wiki and check before you post something. I found this kind of reply very uncomfortable as an asian. It's rather racism or ignorance.
What if the owner chose the essay from someone he knows?
It's total curruption bullishit.
That was the reason why, I am so disappointed in starwarz series.
Well, he made good money, got nothing to say about it.
... For the negative comments here,
Comparing Red camera and BMD, and Canon is a bit weird to me.
Here is the reason.
BMD camera came out for "Affordable- Cine camera", and it has a reputation of bad C/S, bad software, some of critical errors on the cameras.
Canon camera (C300, C100 series) were created for documentary, television show, media purposes.
Sony's case, it has both Cine (F5, F55, F65), and media (FS100, FS700, FS5, FS7) and so on.
But, RED camera was specialized to use in narrative film set, or High-end commercial until now.
People constantly argue BMD is better than Raven or something.
Okay...But, so many known films were used RED. Look, Lord of the ring series were shot by old MX sensor - Not even dragon sensor. How can you compare BMD camera and RED? I just can't understand it.
Yes, I've shot with Ursa. I hated it, because of the so many times error on the set with medias, unbelievably big files, image wasn't that great comparing to the amount of the data, ergonomics were weird, menu was so terrible that I really needed to learn it from beginning.
Even Mini Ursa 4.6 is about $3000, I would not go for it. Why? because the cost of the buying hard drive will be cost me much more than using amazing Red's R3D codec in 6 month.
$10k to buy this kit is a steal.
It's even more shocking price than buying FS7.
