Exceptionally written piece.
Yeah yeah I get it, but the 'fix it in post' mentality is just plain wrong and its a shame editors are stuck fixing these mistakes. If you don't have time to pay attention to something like flicker when your shooting then your not ready to shoot. It is reducing film making to an amateur exercise at best.
Or another idea is that you could just hire a DP who knows flicker free rates and how to adjust shutter exposure time to avoid this.
I cancelled mine in December, the one reason i did so was Reds habit of stringing its users along with typical American hype and promises that deliver 1-2 years later than first anticipated, but the main reason was that i think this thing will only really be a useful tool by adding the additional modules, which will turn your $1500 phone into a $3000+ exercise to have any decent functionality such as a high res camera which is what i imagine most people here will use it for.
its a basic phone with a holographic display. its modular so if you want the sweet high end camera you will have to add it as a module. Think of it as a scarlet camera that makes phone calls lol
Can i presume that listing absence for Red cameras is that the representation is lower than Sony usage? I assumed that the brand being named with "insanely" lower usage than Arri, that we would at least get some numbers.
