"Do you believe making great films is not about a big budget, expensive equipment or a professional camera? Super, we do too!
Just grab your phone, shoot a film and send us your entry. But make sure it's an iPhone! We don't wanna see any footage from those cheap a** Android phones or BlackBerries. Haha, holy sh*t, do people still use those?
Anyway, show the world that great films don't need big brands, status objects or a brand new camera to be awesome!"
So you're telling me the Bond franchise runs out of money every few years and then they use it to set a world record for the biggest explosion? what a non sense!
Ok, maybe somebody with greater post knowledge can correct me, but arent explosions one of the easier to implement kind of effects? why would they waste so much money on this? to have a viral video and a world record?
why not make it a viral in the opposite direction: "you know, we wanted the biggest explosion ever, but we also didnt want to polute the environment more than necessary. thats why we did it in post." again, maybe im completely wrong with my claim, but going for the biggest explosion ever, seems like a waste of money.
no, you're completely right. i was just about to write the same thing.
bullshit like this is the reason for 80% of the consumers that want 10bit TVs, although they probably couldnt see a difference in a proper test.
Yeah, just like every big news site is also supporting ISIS and Donald Trump for President.
I think anybody can find at least a few things to agree with in that video. I do as well. His point on paid updates being worth the money is completely right. Still, call me old fashioned but I think updates should be free. Period. I also agree with the fact that Panasonic messed up the communication and thinking about it maybe that's a large part of why I am pissed.
I definitely disagree with him calling it stealing and hacking. There is simply no stealing nor hacking involved. At least I see none.
I don't think we will see any relevant software updates for the gh4 in the future, just as there were none in the past 18 months. Except the paid one. I think it's pathetic that the 2.3 update only included one other tiny feature after all this time.
Also, I find it funny how lightning fast Panasonic can deliver updates when their own ass is on the line. They should keep that momentum for future development.
The price is completely reasonable, but when you called it "genuinely affordable" I expected it to be priced below fcpx + motion.
Hitfilm seems to come out with major updates every 12 months, which is great for rapid improvement. But it's also paid updates at 50% of the full price, making it twice as expensive as fcpx + motion over a 3 year term. Even though I don't know how hitfilm compares to this combination, this is where "genuinely affordable" ends for me. Especially because it's actually more expensive than my full creative cloud student version. This is obviously an unfair comparison, but it's still true for me.
