Here's an idea... how about going to see it, entering for free, then based on how you liked it, "buying" another ticket? However, that then may skew the numbers for the distributor/filmmaker, such as average price per ticket. Another thought, support the idea and pay something/anything for that first showing, and follow up with more money, or don't. Movies have to be worth something to everyone... I'd even pay $1 to see a Michael Bay film, albeit not much more than that.
So I shouldn't be sending strongly worded e-mails to my local film festival for only having a schedule with film titles on it (no trailers or even synopses), even though I might drive 45 minutes to see something I really didn't want to see? I get what you're saying and it's an interesting assignment, but some information gets people interested in the film also.
Interesting how some posts get no comments whatsoever. Everybody else must be experts at casting, while I found this post very useful.
Another great and informative article from these filmmakers. I loved there first few articles enough to actually contribute to "Here Alone," and I can't wait to see it. I'm already looking forward to their "what's next," which sounds like a "close cousin" (as opposed to distant) to my project.
I saw no mention of the $3 to become a fan on their website... I assume that $3 goes to the site and is not shared with the filmmaker. Not that it's an exorbitant amount, just an observation. Interesting though, so I'll certainly have to at least check Menthol out.
Another great, informative and useful post... of course there are no other comments here! I can't wait to see it Chris.
