Sorry if i didn't make myself clear, as english it's not my native language. What i meant to say was, at least for me, in 10 years DaVinci will be the standard for everything and IF there's other NLE used in high end productions it's going to be Avid. And i say 10 years because Avid it's going to be harder to push away at that high end (let's say "Hollywood" productions).
I think pretty much nobody likes de subscription based model but all of them have to since there's no other viable option. I use FCPX as my go to NLE and i must say it is not a professional tool (i would recommend it to anyone that wants to learn and never used an editing software before because it's the easiest and best performance for what it is) but i just finished a 12 minute documentary film and it's a pain try to work with more than one editor with the production still going. And i just want to add, in 10 years time IF (big f***ing if) any NLE survive, it's going to be Avid Media Composer. The way i see it, DaVinci Resolve it's going to rule them all. Sorry for the monthly "invest" for this years to come unti...
"still looks like the a7S II is better at picking up detail and the color looks a bit closer to how the actual scene was lit"... Better at picking up detail it's true, as i asume bigger sensor, more pixels, more detail. BUT (and i mean big) "the color looks a bit closer to how the actual scene was lit" i think only in the VLOG vs SLOG2 test. Am i the only one that sees A7SII a lot greenish looking in the thumbnail? (CINELIKE D vs CINE 2 CINEMA)... and to be fair the GH5s is on the magentish side. So yeah, thanks! now i'm more confused about which camera buy. A lot of friends have A7sII so any project can be a multicam project perfectly fine, but a feel more confortable with the magentish color than the greenish... 0_o
For all older editors, there wasn't a FCP7 "deal", it was THE THING!!! 10+ years ago people saved money to get a Mac just (or mainly) for Final Cut if you really wanted to be an editor. Premiere back then sucked b@ll$ big time, Sony Vegas was a SOUND editor that did some video nice and DaVinci only CC. AVID was way out of leage for any editor outside Hollywood. So, FCP was the SHIT! not a "deal". I own pretty much everything i am today to Final Cut.
I must add, FCP X since version 10.2 and especially 10.3 it's back to being my go to NLE. I used FCP 7 until 2014 but it got really slow. R.I.P old friend.
i didn't saw info regarding os...
