Shaun O'Banion began his career as a Production Assistant on SeaQuest DSV after sneaking onto the Universal Studios lot at age 17.
After several more years as a P.A. on feature films, he eventually began to seek a position as a Personal Assistant. The career change proved a wise step and he soon found himself working for (and with) some of the industry’s most well-known and well-respected talent both in front of and behind the camera, including Academy Award winner Christopher Walken, Jack Black, Ben Stiller and acclaimed directors Joe Wright, Judd Apatow and Academy Award Nominee Peter Hedges.
After years of watching and learning, O’Banion moved into producing in 2007 with DAKOTA SKYE. The film became a cult hit and remained in the Top 100 on Netflix for the next 5 years! In 2010, he produced GIRLFRIEND, for which he received an IFP Gotham Award. He joined the Producers Guild in 2011 and produced THE AUTOMATIC HATE in 2013. The film will be released in 2015. Currently, he is in development on several films including one with partners Shannon Mullen, Academy Award winner Bruce Cohen and BAFTA nominee Paul Webster.
