Canon is so out of touch with the video world that they couldn't even do 16K60 video. Hunk of junk.
I have seriously considered this camera a joke/prank for a while. Not a joke as in, "What a joke", but as in April Fools. I don't think this camera was ever really meant to be finished.
Maybe if you do stills work. If you do both, I'd stick to the A7S line. But, for video, this is a no-brainer. I have no doubt that Sony will take a hit to their market share on this one due to the low barrier of entry, specs, and having a mount that is easily adaptable. To say the BMPCC2 and GH5s aren't in the same ballpark shows either unrealistic expectations or too much brand loyalty to Sony. Either way, choose the tool that's best for your workflow and enjoy.
That level of CA at the price point just seems so unacceptable.
I think this list should've included the fantastic Tokina Vista Cinema Lenses. They've made some big strides this year and have more to add in the coming months. I considered many sets before landing on them and I'm sure glad I picked them over those CP.3s.
Was that based on the $4999 price? I built out an equivalent 16 core PC vs the 14-core model of the imac pro and still saw a $3000 premium on the imac. Even then, I can use that $3K to buy a "beautiful" monitor that'll serve me well. Just doesn't seem worth it. I like apple hardware, but I cannot justify this with comparable PC builds at much lower prices. Their software better be optimized to the max to really sell this thing well.
