One of the best interviews I've heard in years. This was packed with so much legit advice and actual wisdom I'll probably listen to this again sometime soon. Can't wait to see Ms. Purple.
Bizarre how Black Panther would be anywhere near a list like this. It's a nice Marvel film and all, but uh... I wouldn't put the cinematography above a generic super hero movie; definitely not bad, it looked solid but to be included in any sort of Academy Award discussion is a little ridiculous.
The interview podcasts are really REALLY valuable. I do like indie film weekly, but just don't stop doing the interviews.... pleaaaase
What's with recycling all these old articles?
Canon has the most pleasing color science? There's easily a number of others well ahead of Canon here and Sony. Still nice and non-offensive but it always looks so warm / baked. I'm not sure why but the Canon image seems so closely associated with corporate interviews and weddings at this point it's hard to separate that look in narratives. Canon color could use a little refresh imo
I'm not so sure if back lighting everything makes sense in some of the scenes, but it definitely looks great. I think this is one of those films that calls attention to itself a little more than it should in the cinematography.
