I've been around for a while, done quite a few things...was an art director, designer, musician...now I use everything I've learned to help me make videos.
I get where you’re coming from. His films do feel cold and lifeless at times. Momento is the high point for me. I agree, he is overrated as a director. His films lack emotion, they feel very technical like he’s following a film making manual. Having said all that I don’t think he’s terrible. By the way Edan Cohen, any relation!
Of all the features you could put into a video camera someone thinks 8k is it! The developers obviously spend too much time on this site! I think dynamic range, bit rate and codec would be first on my list followed by high frame rates. Then what about the form factor. Why design a video camera that looks like a cheep point and shoot from 1985. When Fidel Castro said "Up the resolution" he didn't know what he was starting!
Nice video. Simple and concise. Congratulations on not stretching it out with waffle like most of these tutorials.
From my experience you should be able to find most of what you need to know free online. There are a lot of very generous professionals out there who are prepared to share their knowledge. Most of these courses are slickly packaged versions of what's already out there. My advice is find what you can for free and experiment and don't get sucked into the promise of a short cut to expertise. BTW if you're watching too many of these videos you're probably procrastinating. Don't be a spectator, get involved!
Beautiful and moving.
I’m sure the webinar was great, unfortunately I missed it but even though I didn’t see it one thing is for sure, they didn’t make a movie for $3.
