The white ones look slick but I wouldn't pay $900 more for them. Also don't like that you can only get the white in the bundle.
Generally a good article, but I feel like you should have had a section for the C100 and C300 and maybe even C200. You just glossed over the C series at the end of the 5D section despite this article being about Canon motion picture/video cameras. At the very least one section detailing that whole series in more depth.
Most things seem fine, but I would think that by 2020 the record time limits wouldn't still be around. Especially with the older (six year old) GH4 not having them. I get that the GH4 is probably a bigger camera, but this is also a much newer camera with a newer sensor/processor.
I kind of feel the same way about the 4K crop.
In fact when thinking about it, these companies need to try harder. They shouldn't just be trying to be compete with each other but the market in general. You can buy a three year old iPhone that shoots 4K/60p for basically half this price. I have one right next to me. Sure it's not a larger sensor with interchangeable lenses, but this Lumix doesn't check emails, make calls or edit photos, so they both have features that make up for what the other lacks.
I would think by now 4K/60p without crop or time limit would be standard issue. Same with headphone jack. I feel like the lack of these things is just artificial limitation.
I don't really care about the film one way or the other, but when did 84 million dollars become lower-budget? I remember when the Fifth Element was made for around that price and was the most expensive European movie ever made.
It's pretty simple. Either you like all of his movies, some of his movies or none of his movies. The amazing part is, you get to decide.
The A7S3 doesn't have built in ND filters or XLRs. It also doesn't use big long lasting camcorder batteries.
